The spirit of Kabuki has been captured in Cinema Kabuki delivering a beautiful and colorful performance of “Hokaibo”, the Heisei Namamura-za’s speciality.

Hokaibo is a wondering monk who is a lovable character despite being open about his love for money and women. He falls in love with a girl, Okumi, who is in love with Yosuke. Hokaibo finds out Yosuke is in search of a long-lost scroll precious to the Yoshida family of aristocrats. The story revolves around the scroll and people who go after it.
