An invitation from that place of memories and nostalgia - a comedy film full of laughter and tears that resonates with our emotions.

In the Local-Support Film section, the festival presents the world-premiere screening of the challenging a film set in Asakusa. The scenes were all shot on a dioramic setting, and roles played by immobile dolls. Recreating the atmosphere of the old silent films, it was spiced up with a katsuben performance by a female benshi, Koyata Aso. The diorama and dolls were created by Mr. Takaki Yamamoto, the pioneer in the genre of "retro diorama." A unique, new type of film with a great mix of modern art, science and technology.

Story Japan in 1964. Excitement filled the air with the Tokyo Olympic Games just around the corner. To throw a curve ball at the overtly keyed-up society, a new project for some separate issues was being launched at a publisher Fujin Seironsha, featuring women who lived behind the scenes in the Meiji, Taisho and Showa periods. Put in charge of the project as head interviewer was the clumsy Sachiko Kamisaka. Sachiko was born and bred in an underground red light district in the second decade of the 1900s, and she decides to cover the story of the life of Nagomi, a childhood neighbor who used to play with her. Sachiko retraces Nagomi's footsteps and finally locates her, but what will her next move be? An invitation from that place of memories and nostalgia - a comedy film full of laughter and tears that resonates with our emotions.
